What we do

Human Rights and Environmental Accountability in Resource Development Supply Chains
ARC Center investigates the human rights and environmental impacts of large-scale global resource development.
Our work examines corporate and governmental accountability, with particular attention to how resource supply chains affect local communities and ecosystems.
Through field-based research, ARC Center explores how local realities can inform more effective policy and regulatory frameworks for supply chain responsibility.

Emerging Issues in Energy Transition Fuels and Infrastructure
ARC Center examines key issues emerging across multiple energy transition pathways, including the phase-out of fossil fuel–based power generation, the expansion of renewable energy, transitions in aviation and maritime fuels, and the development of green hy
drogen. The Center analyzes how new infrastructure investments can generate unequal
distributions of costs and risks, with attention to the roles of public and private interests in shaping transition trajectories.

Structural Analysis of Land–Sea Resource Use and Environmental Burdens
ARC Center takes a holistic approach to understanding how resource development across terrestrial and marine environments affects ecosystems and communities.
The Center conducts structural analyses of land-use change, marine spatial dynamics,
and the concentration of environmental burdens that emerge in resource development and energy transition processes.

Solidarity and Global Collaboration with Civil Society
Working in partnership with domestic and international civil society organizations,
researchers, and grassroots activists, ARC Center contributes to broader public and policy discussions on resource development and the energy tran
sition. Through collaborative research, public forums, and advocacy initiatives, the Center supports the inclusion of diverse civil society perspectives in policy-making processes.
